“What if girls had their own social media site?”
This was a fun, cross-platform project based on this question! I took up the challenge and made a website and mobile version of it since most social media sites have both options!
Design
As I was designing this, I thought of Grrrl having popular features from different social media apps that people frequent:

Instagram. The post boxes, story buttons, and layout are all inspired by this. This will help people stay invested in the platform, especially on mobile since Instagram has a layout that makes people want to scroll!
Facebook. The group feature that allows people to stay invested in Facebook will be here so members will feel like they belong to a community.

YouTube. The video section allows people to enjoy and make/stream content that will be seen by a large audience of people, which will help the platform retain users.

All of these features coming together will allow the platform to become a popular place for women especially those who have expressed that they want to interact, encourage, and thrive with other women!
Mobile App Design
This was my first cross-platform project, which was challenging yet fun! Designing features and assets that can scale with size took a lot of trial-and-error but once I saw the end result, it was worth it!
It taught me what goes into these platforms and other sites that support both web and mobile interfaces and what goes into them that makes them function while also being visually appealing!
Thank you for viewing!
